Girl group 'VIVIZ' continues to 'run backwards on the charts'. 'VIVIZ' charted at the top of the major music charts with 'MANIAC', which was released three months ago, and their popularity continues. 'VIVIZ' succeeded in getting on track two years after the team's formation.

'MANIAC' is the title track from 'VERSUS', the fourth mini-album released by 'VIVIZ' last November. The genre is pop dance and the lyrical theme deals with a situation where you hate your partner but cannot let go.

VIVIZ asked French dancer Canny, who has collaborated with pop star Beyoncé, to dance to 'MANIAC'. The dance challenge utilised the part where the dancers circled their bodies and shook their pelvises in time with the chorus of the song during the dance.

The reason why they chose the name of the dance challenge as 'Pop Your Butt (Ondongyi)' instead of the name of the song is because the scene on their reality show where Kanye said 'Pop Your Butt (Ondongyi)' while teaching the members how to dance became a hot topic among fans.

On 14 April, the members of VIVIZ told the media edaily, "The 'Pop Your Butt' dance challenge was the result of various attempts, worrying about the point where they could make a strong impression in a short period of time.

Many K-pop artists and short form challenge users continued to support the 'Pop Your Ondong' challenge, adding to the popularity of 'MANIAC'. Under these circumstances, 'MANIAC' has continued to gain popularity since the year 2024 and charted in the top 10 on MelOn on the 2nd of last month with a highest position of No. 19.

Before long, it has reached a place where the 'Top 10' is in sight. In the latest weekly chart (28 Jan - 3 Feb) of the CIRCLE Chart, which combines data from major music platforms, the group has risen to No. 15.

VIVIZ is a group formed by the members of the girl group GFRIEND who got together and started their activities in April 2022, and this is the first time they have made their mark on the music charts. Their previous album title tracks failed to chart in the top 100 on MelOn.
