ハンファが米調理ロボット企業を買収、韓国でもフードテックの活性化に期待感=韓国
Hanwha acquires US cooking robot company, raising expectations for revitalizing food tech in South Korea
According to Hanwha Group, on February 29th, Hanwha Foodtech, a restaurant company, acquired Serve Automation (hereinafter referred to as Serve Automation), which operates the pizza specialty store Stellar Pizza in the United States.
We have completed the acquisition procedure for Founded in 2019, Serve is a company founded by engineers from the American space company SpaceXfrom, and provides pizza cooking robots to food truck operators.
Hanwha Food Tech plans to introduce Serve robots to South Korea this year. In the United States, the business model that used to provide robots for food trucks has shifted to focus on stores.
I'm considering converting. Food tech was introduced in South Korea three to four years ago. However, the market has not been revitalized. It requires a large initial investment and takes a long time to recover.
It's for a reason. It is a heavy burden for self-employed people to implement, and even large franchise chains (FC) operators have only introduced it at some stores.
Coffee making robots also cost 30 million to 50 million won (approximately 3.38 million to 5.63 million yen).
. If you add assembly costs and system installation costs to this amount, it will cost nearly 100 million won (approximately 11.27 million yen). Robot manufacturers as well as SI companies that reconfigure robot systems for use in the food and beverage industry.
The majority of businesses are small and medium-sized enterprises, and there were also limitations in that there were no companies strong enough to lead the market. Therefore, the industry is looking forward to Hanwha Foodtech's aggressive business expansion.
It looks like there are some. In a situation where the labor shortage is becoming more serious, if some issues such as cost can be resolved, demand for the introduction of food tech is expected to increase in the food and beverage market.
