“South Korea-India Foreign Ministers Joint Committee” held for the first time in six years… “Strengthening cooperation as special strategic partners”
On the 6th, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol presided over the 10th "South Korea-India Foreign Ministers' Joint Committee" with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who was visiting South Korea, marking the year after the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
As such, the two countries, which are core partners and special strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region that share common values, have decided to further strengthen strategic communication and cooperation.
According to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korean-Indian Foreign Ministers' Joint Committee was held at the government building in Seoul this morning for the first time in six years since the meeting was held in New Delhi in December 2018.
It was done. The Korea-India Foreign Ministers' Joint Committee is a comprehensive consultative body co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries and attended by representatives of relevant organizations from both countries.
The two foreign ministers said that as 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and India, the two countries have engaged in active high-level exchanges, including holding two summit meetings.
I appreciated the progress that has been made. The two foreign ministers also decided to further develop defense and defense industry cooperation between the two countries, and to hold the "Korea-India Foreign Affairs and Defense (2+2) Vice-Ministerial Meeting" as soon as possible.
We decided to consider possible ways to do so. The two foreign ministers also discussed economic exchanges, cooperation on the international stage, and responses to North Korea.
