I once collected Hot Topics by participating in an audition for a TV series that I manage. In an interview at the time of ``Hwarang,'' he revealed that he was steadily auditioning for overseas productions, and that he was looking forward to the challenge.
The war continues. In a recent interview with Herald POP held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Song Joong Ki said that he was in an audition.
He confessed, ``Even if I lick the bitter cup, sage time will never come.'' On this day, Song Joong Ki joked about whether or not he would be able to audition for overseas productions, saying, ``It's a secret.''
I'm doing it.'' He continued, ``I've fallen a lot, so I'm approaching this with the feeling that I'll be able to do it someday.''
Song Joong Ki also said, ``Just because I'm a well-known actor in Korea...
There is no discomfort at all. I'm grateful that here (in South Korea) I'm told that I'm a top star, but when I go to auditions overseas, I feel like I'm nothing."
There are some works that you can do without auditioning. There are times when schedules don't work out, so I think it's a different challenge for me."
He added, ``Even if I don't like a work in Korea, the reviews are different in other countries. That kind of thing broadens my horizons.''
``I'm having fun doing the auditions, so even if I fail, I won't have time to be a sage,'' he said, emphasizing that he won't feel discouraged or empty.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki's new work ``Ro Giwan'' is about a North Korean defector Giwan who arrived in Belgium with his last hope in life and the reason for his life.
The film depicts the story of Mari (Choi Sung Eun), a woman who has lost her husband, becomes attracted to each other and falls in love, and was released on March 1st through Netflix in more than 190 countries around the world.
