Professors from major medical schools across the nation have formed a joint emergency response committee, and decided to decide by the 15th of this month whether professors at each medical school will resign.
On the 13th, 19 medical schools including Seoul University, Yonsei University, Ulsan University, and Catholic University took emergency measures.
Committee representatives held an online meeting last night and discussed joint measures such as ``submitting a notice of resignation,'' and announced that they made this decision.

``In order to prevent this, we have decided to form an emergency task force and work together in solidarity.'' Universities that participated in the emergency response committee were Seoul University, Yonsei University, Ulsan University, Catholic University, and Washington University.
Professor Bang Jae-soon of Seoul Medical University was selected to chair the national medical university professor emergency response committee at 19 universities, including Ngwang University and Busan University.
The group stated, ``The goal of the emergency task force is to ensure that medical school students and training hospital specialists, who are the future of medical care in the Republic of Korea, can safely return to teaching.
``We strongly urge the government to listen to our urgent cries and create a forum for negotiations so that medical school students and major doctors can return to their studies and training.''
