A man in his 20s who sent a photo of himself to his girlfriend who wanted to break up with him was sentenced to a fine in the first trial. On the 17th, Ulsan District Court Detective 7Exclusive (Judge Min Han-ki) decided to investigate stalking crimes.
It was announced that defendant A, who was sent to the prosecutor's office on suspicion of violating laws regarding punishment, was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won. At the same time, defendant A was ordered to complete a 40-hour stalking treatment program.
In early April last year, defendant A was sent to the prosecutor's office on charges that after his girlfriend, Mr. B, broke up with him, he cut himself with a shaving blade, took photos of his bleeding neck and chest, and sent them to Mr. B.
Defendant A sent messages and videos seven times a day to B, saying, ``Let's try again,'' even though B refused to contact her.
The trial chamber stated, ``Due to defendant A's stalking behavior, the victim felt considerable fear.''
"It can be seen as something that I felt." However, ``we took into consideration the fact that defendant A has admitted to the crime and is remorseful, that the period of the crime was short, and that it was his first offense,'' he said in explaining the reason for the sentence.
