Police launched an investigation after receiving a report that a banner with the photograph of the 22nd general election primary candidate had been torn to pieces in Incheon.
According to the Incheon Samsan Police Station on the 17th, around midnight yesterday, a candidate running for the presidential election in Incheon's Bupyeong-Gap constituency was announced.
Noh Jeong-myung, the primary candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea, reported to the police that someone had torn up the election banner hanging on the outside wall of the election office in Bupyeong-gu.
It was confirmed that the eyes and mouth of the backup candidate printed on the banner had been slashed several times.
In connection with this, the primary candidate posted on his Facebook page, ``Someone tore down the banner we hung at the election camp,'' and added, ``CCTV (security cameras), fingerprints, etc.
"It will soon become clear who did it." Police are tracking the suspect by analyzing CCTV footage near the election office.
