北朝鮮、国連人権決議案の提出に「政治的謀略だ」
North Korea calls U.N. human rights resolution a political ploy
North Korea has made it clear that it ``firmly denounces'' the draft ``North Korea Human Rights Resolution'' recently submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council by the European Union (EU) and other countries.
On the 24th, North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported that the United Nations Secretariat in Geneva and the North Korean Mission to International Organizations responded to the proposed resolution by saying,
We regard this as a political provocation that took advantage of a deliberate plot, and we will firmly denounce and reject it." North Korea stated, ``The submission of the resolution against North Korea is in line with the purpose and principles of the United Nations Charter, which clearly states respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
"This is nothing more than a thoroughly politicized act of conspiracy that completely goes against the efforts of United Nations member states to protect and promote human rights through dialogue and cooperation."
On the 20th of this month (local time), Belgium submitted a draft resolution on human rights in North Korea to the UN Human Rights Council as a representative of the EU. This draft is ``2014 North Korea Human Rights Inquiry.
The gist of the report is ``Let's comprehensively reexamine the reality of human rights in North Korea, which has deteriorated since the publication of the COI report.''
South Korea continues to participate this year as a co-sponsor of this resolution.
