South Korea ranks in the top 5 for the first time in terms of European patent applications

For the first time, South Korea has ranked in the top five among countries that filed applications with the European Patent Office (2023).
The number of patent applications filed by Korean companies also reached a record high, exceeding 12,575 for the first time.
In addition, the increase rate compared to the previous year was 21%, achieving No. 1. The top 10 companies include two companies each from South Korea, the United States, and Germany, one each from Japan, China, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
