A YouTuber in his 40s was arrested for installing an illegal camera at an early polling station for the general election in April, and his accomplices who helped him in the crime were also arrested one after another.
On the 3rd, the Yangsan Police Station in South Gyeongsang Province investigated four early voting stations in the Yangsan area for illegal camera installations, following this YouTuber.
The Ulsan District Court announced that it had arrested a man in his 70s on suspicion of helping to set up the facility (violation of the Communications Secrecy Protection Act and trespassing).
Prior to this, another accomplice who helped the YouTuber, a man in his 50s, B, was arrested the previous day on the same charges.
According to police investigations, Mr. A and Mr. B were subscribers of the arrested YouTuber's channel and had been friends for many years.
The YouTuber who is said to be the main culprit had installed cameras at about 40 polling stations across the country, including in Seoul and Busan.
They were recently arrested on suspicion of installing the cameras, and they claim that the purpose of installing them was to monitor for election fraud.
