The highest early voting rate in the history of general elections, 31.28%... Why is this number being talked about in political circles? = South Korea
The early voting turnout for the 22nd National Assembly elections has virtually matched the target set by the Democratic Party (the opposition party), making it a hot topic in political circles.
The early voting that took place on the 5th and 6th recorded a voter turnout rate of 31.28% of the total number of voters.
This was just 0.02 percentage points off the 31.3% early voter turnout rate that the Democratic Party had declared its target for the first time two days earlier.
Kim Min-young, who announced the Democratic Party's early voting target during a briefing on the 3rd
Kim Min-seok, head of the general election situation office, said, "The numbers 1 and 3 in the voter turnout target mean that we want people to vote for number 1 (the Democratic Party of Korea) for local districts and number 3 (the Democratic United of Korea) for proportional representation."
In response to this, Kim Jong Un said on his Facebook page that day, "I'm sorry. I was caught up in the theory that the early voting rate was manipulated," and joked, "3.13!!!
Go for it!!!" Some politicians who had raised allegations of fraud in the recent general election also expressed doubts.
Hwang Kyo-ahn, former president of the United Future Party, posted on Facebook, "Will this early voting target be achieved?"
"Did the Democratic Party of Korea accurately calculate the early voting rate, or was that the voting rate the result of the election fraud that we are so worried about?" Hwang said.
We will know whether this is the result of the voting values once the actual voting is over."
