In China, a 6-month-old baby left home alone and crawled around the city at night. It almost led to a serious accident, but the baby was rescued by a citizen who found him.
According to local media reports, including the Beijing News, the incident occurred on the 2nd in the eastern province of Jiangsu on the 27th of last month.
Security camera footage posted on social media showed a man walking alone on a rainy road at around 10:30 p.m.
The image showed a baby crawling. Fortunately, it was the middle of the night and there were no vehicles passing by, but the situation could have led to a serious accident at any time.
At this time, a man, Mr. A, who was driving, discovered the baby. Surprised, Mr. A quickly stopped the car and ran to the baby.
Another woman in a car, Ms. B, also found Mr. A and the baby and stopped the car. Ms. B held the baby in her arms, and when the baby was shivering from the cold after being exposed to the rain, Ms. A gave him a hug.
They took off their coats and put them over the baby. After receiving a call from the couple, the police searched the surrounding area, found a house with the baby's clothes hanging there, and contacted the baby's mother, who was out.
It turns out that the baby's mother was away from home at the time and the front door was not completely closed, causing the baby to crawl outside.
Local authorities said they were awarding a prize to recognise the man and woman who saved the baby's life.
