Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung ”positive” about meeting with President Yoon... ”regrettable that we haven't been able to do so until now” = South Korea

On the 12th, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, the largest opposition party in South Korea, visited the Seoul National Cemetery (a national cemetery where those who have made contributions to the nation are enshrined) and then spoke to reporters about Yoon.
He expressed a positive attitude toward meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "President Yoon, who is responsible for national affairs, naturally needs the cooperation of the opposition party."
That morning, Lee held a meeting with the Democratic Party leadership and the winners of the single-seat constituencies in the general election at the National Assembly.
After visiting the Eul National Cemetery, he said, "Politics is fundamentally about dialogue and compromise, so of course I should have met (with President Yoon) and discussed it," and added, "It's unfortunate that I haven't been able to do that until now."

Considering that this is the basis of the country's constitutional order, we should respect the opposition party, engage in dialogue, and compromise on areas where we have different opinions. This is the fundamental constitutional order of the democratic republic, the Republic of Korea.
"I welcome President Yoon's statement after the general election that he will 'reform the national government and do his best to stabilize the economy and people's livelihood,' and I ask him to put this into practice," he said.
"Over the past two years, many people have become disappointed by politics that lacked dialogue, cooperation, and coexistence. From now on, instead of competing to find fault, we should look at who is more loyal to the people and the country, and who is more capable.
"There should be a competition to see who has the enthusiasm," he said.
