The South Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance announced that Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Strategy and Finance,
The Minister will depart on the 16th to attend the Korea-US-Japan Finance Ministers' Meeting, the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting, and the World Bank Development Committee Meeting, which will be held in Washington DC from the 17th to the 19th of this month.
On the first day, the 17th, Deputy Prime Minister Choi will attend the Japan-US-ROK Finance Ministers' Meeting. At the Camp David summit in August last year, the leaders of Japan, the US and South Korea adopted a joint statement to establish a new Japan-US-ROK Finance Ministers' Meeting.
At the Ukraine aid conference to be held afterwards, it was announced that President Yoon Seok-yeol would provide $2.3 billion (approximately 354.764 billion yen) in aid to Ukraine, which he pledged at the G20 summit in September last year.
The second half of the meeting will see the G20 finance ministers unveil a plan to reach carbon neutrality and a fair transition goal.
The second session of the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting, to be held on the 18th, will focus on multilateral development strategies in response to the new international financial environment.
He plans to present ways to improve the international financial system for sustainable growth, including bank reform. On the final day, the 19th, he will attend the World Bank Development Committee meeting and talk about the financial reform plan he took part in in Marrakech, Morocco, in October last year.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Choi is scheduled to meet with the finance ministers of major countries, including Japan and Ukraine.
