Long line of wreaths in support of former South Korean ruling party leader in front of National Assembly
On the 17th, wreaths were being brought one after another in front of the South Korean National Assembly in support of Han Dong-hoon, former emergency response committee chairman of the ruling party People Power Party.
Wreaths in support of former Chairman Han have been placed in front of the National Assembly since the 15th of this month.
The wreaths sent by supporters of the former chairman had phrases such as "We love you Han Dong-hoon" and "We miss you Han Dong-hoon, our hope."
The wreaths that were brought between the 15th and 16th were removed because they were not approved by the Diet, but wreaths continued to be brought in one after another, forming a long line.
On this day, in front of the National Assembly's Constitutional Gate, wreaths sent by "fellow citizens" from places such as Los Angeles and Dubai were lined up.
On the 11th, former Chairman Han held a press conference to announce his intentions for the general elections (held on April 10th) of the National Assembly.
Regarding the ruling party's crushing defeat, he resigned from his position as emergency response committee chairman, saying, "I take the people's feelings seriously and will reflect on my actions."
