Samsung affiliate expands executives' six-day work week to deal with management crisis...One day of work on Saturday and Sunday to arrive = Korea
The six-day work week for executives, which has been implemented at Samsung Electronics and some other Samsung affiliates, is showing signs of being expanded to all affiliates.
According to industry sources on the 17th, Samsung Electronics has been promoting executive positions that were previously held in limited departments such as development and support.
The six-day work week has also spread to electronics-related companies such as Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, and Samsung Display. However, this initiative is not a group-wide policy, but rather a policy for each company.
This is a voluntary initiative being implemented by the company, and executives are expected to arrive to work one day out of the weekend starting as early as this weekend. Recently, the global economy has been sluggish, and business uncertainty has increased.
In response to this, an increasing number of Korean companies are increasing the work intensity of their executives as part of emergency management measures. This year, SK Group introduced a five-day work week system for the first time in 24 years since it introduced the system in July 2000.
The Group resumed Saturday meetings with the participation of key management members of the Group.
