President Yoon proposes ”luncheon” to former ruling party leader...date undecided = South Korea
South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol has proposed a "luncheon" for members of the emergency response committee, including former emergency response chairman Han Dong-hoon of the ruling People Power Party.
However, former Chairman Han has made it clear that he will not be participating. A spokesman for the ruling party People Power Party announced in a public announcement on the 21st, "Yoon Jae-ok, acting chairman of the ruling party, announced his intention to withdraw from the committee on the 19th.
The Presidential Office has proposed a lunch meeting with the Emergency Response Committee, but the date has not been finalized.
Regarding this, a South Korean presidential office official said, "It is natural for the president to meet with the ruling party's emergency response committee, which fought in the general elections, after the election.
However, it is reported that former Chairman Han politely indicated his intention not to attend, saying, "Due to health reasons, it is difficult for me to attend at the moment."
This makes it unlikely that a lunch meeting between President Yoon and the Emergency Response Committee will take place for the time being.
The South Korean presidential office also appears unwilling to meet with the emergency response committee, excluding former Chairman Han.
A senior official in the South Korean presidential office said, "They can meet once Han's health improves."
He added, "Former Chairman Han must attend."
