釜山・金海空港の国際線拡張ターミナル、5年間の工事を終え26日にオープン
Busan Gimhae Airport's international expansion terminal opens on the 26th after five years of construction
The international expansion terminal at Gimhae Airport in Busan will be fully opened on the 26th of this month after five years of construction.
According to Busan City on the 24th, Gimhae Airport expanded its international passenger terminal in 2016.
However, in 2018 and 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak, it was the only regional airport to have more than 10 million international passengers, and the lack of capacity has caused great inconvenience to airport users in the southern region.
With the expansion of the international terminal, the capacity of international flights will increase from 6.3 million to 8.3 million per year, and depending on the service level standard, it can accommodate up to 11.56 million people.
In addition, a new immigration gate area was built on the first floor of the expanded terminal, adding 11 immigration checkpoints and two baggage claim areas.
The city is expected to further improve congestion at the arrival gate area during the daytime (6:00-9:00 a.m.) with the opening of the Gimhae Airport International Terminal Extension.
The city is expected to greatly expand its international passenger capacity. In order to open various air routes, the government obtained the Indonesian (Jakarta-Bali) air transport rights in February this year.
The government is concentrating all of its administrative efforts on establishing regular flights from Busan by securing additional funding. It is also consulting with domestic and foreign airlines and seeking expert advice on ways to expand financial support for establishing direct routes to Europe and North America.
We are also working to expand our aviation network by listening to requests from airlines.
