"The United States will continue to impose sanctions against those who cooperate in facilitating the transfer of weapons and refined oil between Russia and North Korea," a State Department spokesman said at a press conference on the same day.
"We will work with our partners, including Australia, the EU, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and the UK, to announce the new coordinated sanctions designations later this month," he said.
Prior to the press conference, the White House said, "Russia has shipped refined oil to North Korea in excess of the annual supply limit set by the UN Security Council resolution on sanctions against North Korea this year.
