”Onion Man” New Party leader: ”Failure to host Busan World Expo demands national investigation” = South Korea

Cho Kuk, formerly known as the "Onion Man" and former Minister of Justice of the Fatherland Reform Party, said he would "demand a national investigation in the National Assembly and seek to find out the truth" regarding the failure of Busan to host the 2030 World Expo.
On the 3rd, Cho said in a speech at the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do National Assembly General Election Victory Report Rally in Busan, "Once the National Assembly opens,
"We will thoroughly hold them accountable for the failure to host the Busan World Expo," Cho said. "The final result of the bid for the Busan World Expo by President Yoon Seok-yeol, who prided himself on being the 'No. 1 salesman in the Republic of Korea,' is
"It was a miserable failure," he said. "What should be done about a sales employee who claimed to be a salesperson but failed in his sales and caused enormous losses to the company?"
He continued, "President Yoon and his wife Kim Kun-hee did not engage in diplomacy to attract the World Expo, but rather promoted overseas travel and brand-name shopping.
"I believe this is the result of him going there to do something stupid," he said, emphasizing, "I will demand a national investigation in the National Assembly and get to the truth."
He also said, "I am responsible for causing disappointment and pain to the public, and I will pay 550 billion won (about 61.88 billion yen)."
Those responsible for the failure to bid for the Olympics should run in the general election. They should be held responsible for wasting more than 100,000 yen of taxpayers' money, for visiting foreign countries as if they were visiting a neighboring town but coming back empty-handed, for misleading public opinion and making false reports to the people, and for the failure to bid for the Olympics.
"They are responsible for allowing it. I will hold them accountable in full in the Diet."
