South Korea sells 1.25 million ”climate companion cards” in 100 days after launch, offering discounts on public transport passes

The Seoul City Climate Companion Card (hereafter referred to as the Climate Companion Card), which Seoul Metropolitan Government launched on January 27, marked its 100th day on sale on the 5th. As of May 2, the cumulative number of cards sold was 100.
The total number of cards has reached 1,249,000, of which 670,771 are mobile cards and 578,641 are gift cards. The "Climate Companion Card" is a card that allows regular users of public transport to receive a fare refund.
The number of people using public transport with the Climate Companion Card continues to increase, and on April 2nd it surpassed the target of 500,000 for the first time.
On May 2nd, 530,000 people were using it per day. In particular, Hot Topic's transportation card "K Pass," which refunds 20-53% of transportation costs to those who regularly use public transportation,
The number of people using the Climate Accompanying Card has actually increased since it was introduced on the 1st. To commemorate the 100th day since the service began, the city is releasing a new gift card for the project, which will begin in July.
The company has also released an image of the card. Discount services using the card at science-related facilities and public facilities such as parks will also be strengthened. From the end of May, the Seoul Science Museum will have a climate accompaniment card.
By bringing this card, you can receive a discount of up to 50% off admission fees. In the future, discounts will be added to Seoul Grand Park and the Botanical Gardens.
