Police officer tries to rescue teenager from falling into Han River, but falls with him (South Korea)
A police officer attempting to rescue a teenager who was hanging from the railing of a bridge over the Han River in Seoul, South Korea, fell into the river with the teenager.
According to the Yeouido District Police Station of Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul on the 9th, at around 7:24 pm the previous day, "a person was standing on the railing of the Mapo Bridge.
Police Chief Kim Bum Soo (32) of the Yeouido District Police Station was called to the scene and tried to rescue Mr. A (17), who was hanging from the railing.
He tried to grab him and pull him back, but they both fell into the Han River. Before about 10 police officers, including Chief Superintendent Kim, were dispatched, a passerby was reportedly grabbing Mr. A.
Fortunately, both were immediately rescued by a 119 rescue boat and a Han River Police patrol boat that were waiting at the scene, and they were said to have no major injuries and are in no danger of dying.
