South Korean business leaders visiting Japan to attend the Japan-Korea Businessmen's Conference will meet with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the business community, the Japan-Korea Economic Association Chairman Kim Yoon (Chairman of Samyang Holdings) led the delegation.
The Business Council delegation will depart for Tokyo on the 13th and make courtesy visits to the Japanese government and key institutions. The delegation will meet with Prime Minister Kishida, Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Saito Ken, Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko and other senior Japanese government officials.
The delegation will include Chairman Kim Yoon, chairman of the Korea International Trade Association's Special Committee on Japan-Korea Exchange, Chairman Cho Hyun-jun of the Hyosung Group, and Jin Jin, a Japan expert in the financial industry.
The meeting between the business delegation and the Japanese cabinet leaders was held ahead of the Japan-Korea Business Conference, where business leaders from both countries will meet to discuss economic cooperation plans.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Japan-Korea Economic Association, together with the Japan-Korea Economic Association and the Japan Foundation for Industrial and Technological Cooperation, will hold the event at the Hotel Oak in Tokyo from the 13th to the 16th (the main conference will be held from the 14th to the 15th).
The 56th Japan-Korea Business Conference will be held in Seoul on the theme of "Japan-Korea Partnership for the Future." Attending the conference will be Chairman Kim, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mikio Sasaki.
Approximately 300 people from the business world of both countries, including the chairman of the Japan-Korea Economic Association (former chairman of Mitsubishi Corporation), are expected to participate. The Japan-Korea Business Conference is the leading private economic conference in both Japan and Korea, and has been held since its first conference in 1969.
Since then, it has been held alternately in both countries every year and has played a central role in Japan-Korea cooperation.
