Former Director of South Korea's National Intelligence Service: ”Now is Lee Jae-myung's time”... ”Reappointment as party leader is certain”

Park Ji-won, a former National Assembly member-elect of the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea (Democratic Party), who has a history of serving as the head of the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, announced on the 13th that he would be re-elected as the party's chairman by Lee Jae-myung.
"I think that's what will happen," Park said in an interview with a South Korean radio show on the same day, saying, "The Democratic Party's absolute goal is to take power and to win the support of the people and to lead the National Assembly."
"Considering that Lee led the party to victory in the general election and has received the utmost trust from the people, I said at the outset that it would be desirable for him to become the party leader. There is a lot of sympathy within the party as well."
"I think this (Representative Lee's reappointment as party leader) is certain," Park said, adding, "I don't think there is any objection to this."
He also said, "There is no one challenging the party chairmanship right now. I have spoken to many influential figures, including former prime ministers, and
"I said, 'Now is Lee Jae-myung's time.' Since Lee has the support of the people, it would be good for him to lead the party. It seems that what I said has come true."
