LGディスプレーの次世代OLED技術研究、国際情報ディスプレー学会から優れた論文として選出=韓国報道
LG Display's next-generation OLED technology research selected as outstanding paper by International Information Display Association (Korean media)
A research team at LG Display (LGD), a major display manufacturer, has published a research paper on a new technology for organic light-emitting diode (OLEDoS), which has significantly improved performance compared to conventional technology, in an international journal.
The Society of Information Display (SID) announced that it had been selected as the "Excellent Paper of the Year." Every year, SID selects the top 5% of papers from over 500 papers worldwide that have produced outstanding results.
The LGD research team developed a newly developed organic light-emitting diode (OLED) element and its proprietary OLED image light expansion technology, "Microlens Array (MIL-C)."
By combining this with the OLED display technology, the brightness of the display has increased by 40% compared to conventional displays, reaching 10,000 nits. If OLEDoS is installed in a virtual reality (VR) device, it will be possible to enjoy a display that is as bright as if you were actually looking at it with your own eyes.
LG Display announced the results of its OLEDoS research at SID Display Week 2024, an international display technology conference that opened in the U.S. on the 12th (local time).
The group published 15 research papers on next-generation displays, including those on technology to improve the sense of unity in light-field displays (LFDs), which allow users to experience 3D images without the need for glasses, and technology to improve the sense of unity in light-field displays (LFDs), which allow users to experience 3D images without the need for glasses.
In addition to a method for measuring the stretchability of stretchable displays that can expand and contract in all directions, the project will also cover the design of highly efficient OLED light-emitting elements using artificial intelligence (AI) and a system for predicting defect rates.
Research results on optimizing production processes will also be presented.
