Comedian Kim Young-min plans demonstration against proposed national support fund in South Korea
YouTuber and comedian Kim Young Min has spoken out against the "250,000 won subsidy for all citizens" being promoted by the opposition parties, including the largest opposition party in South Korea, the Democratic Party of Korea.
On the 14th, Kim released a statement on YouTube, saying, "Recently, I have been criticizing the statements and actions of politicians belonging to the ruling People Power Party.
"I looked into it carefully. I felt there was absolutely no will to stop this evil law or any solidarity with it, and it scared me."
He added, "Even people like me are taking to the streets, shaving their heads, and fasting.
"If we do this, I think people will understand the true feelings of our supporters," he said, teasing that he would hold an exclusive demonstration in front of the People Power Party headquarters at 11 a.m. on the 17th to convey his sincerity.
Kim pointed out, "The 'God of Peace,' who used to repeat the phrase 'peace' as a catchphrase, has gone, and in his place has appeared the 'God of Extortion,' who tries to leech off his descendants."
"The 50,000 won aid is tantamount to extortion from future generations. I want this to be prevented," he said. Kim also published a blog titled "North Korea also destroyed a fire station (built by South Korea inside North Korea)" on the same day.
In a video posted in which he criticized the Democratic Party's policy toward North Korea, he wrote, "This is always the result of peace shows that you buy with money. Do you understand?"
