Korea International Trade Association holds meeting with Japan's Association of Corporate Executives
The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 16th that it held the "1st Korea-Japan Exchange Special Committee - Meeting with the Japan Business Association" at the ANA Intercontinental Hotel in Tokyo.
This meeting was the first between the Korea-Japan Exchange Special Committee of the Korea International Trade Association, which was launched on February 7 this year, and the Japan Association of Corporate Executives, one of Japan's three major economic organizations, and was held to promote sustainable cooperation between Japanese and Korean companies.
The committee was established to build a channel for communication and to discuss cooperation issues related to global issues. Cho Hyun-jun, chairman of the Korea-Japan Exchange Special Committee (and chairman of Hyosung Group), delivered the opening remarks.
In his speech, he said, "Korean and Japanese businesspeople are facing common challenges both at home and abroad, including low birth rates and an aging population, supply chain crises, Middle East risks, and uncertainty due to elections in major countries."
"I hope that the establishment of the Korea-Japan Exchange Special Committee will foster cooperation between Japanese and Korean companies," said Lotte Holdings CEO Tamatsuka.
"I am pleased that a continuous channel of communication has been created between the two countries," he said. "Through meetings between businesspeople from both countries, we hope to share the diverse experiences and know-how that each company possesses and to foster mutual understanding both domestically and internationally."
"I hope that we can solve this problem wisely," said Kim Go-hyun, executive director of the Korea International Trade Association, which hosted the meeting. "The Korea-Japan Exchange Special Committee has been listening to the diverse opinions of our export companies.
"This is a channel through which we can convey this message to the Japanese business community," he said, emphasizing that the Korea Trade Association will continue to take the lead in strengthening economic cooperation between Korea and Japan.
