10,000 NewJeans fans raise voices against Min Hee-jin's dismissal...file petition in court
As the dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-jin of HYBE's subsidiary label ADOR continues to drag on, fans of the girl group NewJeans have filed a petition in court opposing Min Hee-jin's dismissal.
On the 24th (today), the music industry reported that 10,000 Bunnies (the name of NewJeans fans) filed a petition with the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court at 3 p.m.
Currently, HYBE is moving to dismiss Min Hee-jin as CEO, accusing her of trying to seize management control of ADOR. Min Hee-jin's side has strongly denied this,
With ADOR's extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for the 31st of this month approaching, HYBE has filed a provisional injunction to prohibit the voting event, stating that they should not exercise their voting rights on the proposal to dismiss CEO Min Hee-jin.
While the court's decision has yet to be made, fans of "NewJeans" have begun to raise their voices. Previously, they held a truck demonstration in front of HYBE's building to protest against the dismissal of CEO Min Hee-jin.
The fans who expressed their opinions have since started collecting signatures for a petition. The petition states, "Until a final legal decision is made that Min Hee-jin has engaged in illegal activities,
The contents of the contract between the parties must be respected, and until that time, we hope that Min Hee-jin will maintain her position as CEO of ADOR, a statement from NewJeans said.
We understand that these are Barr's wishes, and so do we in support of NewJeans."
They also said, "All of us in the fan club who cherish NewJeans fully recognize the accomplishments that CEO Min Hee-jin has made for NewJeans up until now.
I hope that my relationship with the NewJeans members will continue to be as strong as it is now, and that this will be the best direction for the future growth of NewJeans.
"I think that's the case," it read. The petition, which began collecting signatures on the 23rd, reached its target of 10,000 signatures in about 16 hours. The results of the provisional injunction application will be announced next week before the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
Amidst this prediction, attention is being focused on the enthusiasm of fans who are opposed to the dismissal of Director Min Hee-jin.
