BTS' JUNG KOOK is ranked number one among Japan's most popular idols

BTS' JUNG KOOK proved his popularity by being chosen as the number one "Most Popular Idol in Japan."
KOOK will be appearing on the "IDOL CHAMP" program from May 14th to 28th.
CHAMP" held a question about "Who is the most popular idol in Japan?"
JUNG KOOK was chosen as the No. 1 with an overwhelming 39.07% of the votes.
Following KOOK, in second place was "n.Ssign" Kazuta (18.99%), and in third place was "SHINee" TAEMIN (10.77%).
The rankings were done in order of popularity. JUNG KOOK was recently named the most searched male idol on YouTube in Japan in 2024. JUNG
KOOK proved his strong popularity in Japan by being the only K-pop solo singer to be selected as the "Face of 2023" chosen by 300,000 Japanese members of the public.
In addition, JUNG KOOK has demonstrated his special popularity by sweeping the top ranks of major charts with his music and albums released in Japan.
KOOK achieved over 100 million cumulative plays with his solo single "Seven," and was awarded the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ)
The band was awarded "Platinum" in the streaming category by the Radio Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) and won the "38th Japan Gold Disc Awards" in the Asia Pacific region.
With this, he won the "Song of the Year by Download" category, making it his second consecutive trophy at this awards ceremony.
KOOK's first solo album "GOLDEN" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Japan's "Hot Album Chart" and No. 1 on the "Download Album Chart"
Upon its release, the album shot straight to number one on the Oricon Daily Album Chart with sales of 205,961 copies.
As of November last year, "GOLDEN" has exceeded 250,000 cumulative shipments, and has received a goal award from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
The album was certified platinum.
