BTS' JIMIN donates 100 million won to scholarship through his father during military service

JIMIN of the group BTS, who is currently serving in the military, has donated scholarships to students in difficult circumstances in the Gyeongnam area.
On the 30th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced that JIMIN's father donated 100 million won (approximately 11 million yen) for a scholarship on his son's behalf on the 20th.
Last month, Jimin's father called the provincial education office directly to ask for a scholarship for students in Gyeongsangnam-do who are in difficult circumstances.
An official from the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Office of Education said, "Singer Jimin spent his school days in Busan, so he has no direct connection to Gyeongsangnam-do, but he is making a donation purely for students in Seoul.
"I heard that this donation was made with a noble intention," he said, "I'm grateful that they shared their warm hearts for the future of children."
The scholarship will be provided to students from low-income families in the city through the Gyeongsangnam-do Future Education Foundation, an organization funded by the metropolitan education office.
In addition to the Gyeongnam Office of Education, JIMIN will also donate 100 million won each to the Busan Office of Education, the Jeollanam Office of Education, the Gangwon Office of Education, and the Chungbuk Office of Education.
Jimin enlisted in the army in December of last year and is currently serving in the army.
