K-On Network, a telecommunications company, has announced that it will proceed with a project to build a high-speed communications network on the subways and urban railways of six metropolitan cities, including Seoul.

Construction is scheduled to begin in October on the Incheon Subway's Line 1 section and in October on the Seoul Subway's Line 9 section. The Daegu subway is scheduled to start service in January-March 2015, and the Seoul
The 9th line of the Ulmetro will be in operation from April to June 2025. The plan is to secure revenue by viewing content and advertisements provided before using the network. Users will be able to use the service without authentication.
In addition, users can use up to 30GB of data for free if they are not authorized to use the service, and 50 to 100GB for free if they are authorized to use the service.
The company plans to develop a product that includes subway WiFi, targeting people in the city. At the same time, it plans to provide port communication services and high-speed internet services until 2027, when the construction of high-speed networks in six major metropolitan cities will be completed.
The company will also proceed with receiving orders for R&D projects for high-speed rail communication networks and university educational networks.
