きょう(31日)3rdミニアルバム発売「EXO」SUHO、「僕がロックに本気だと知ってほしい」
Today (31st) 3rd mini album released ”EXO” SUHO, ”I want you to know that I'm serious about rock”
SUHO of the boy group EXO will be making a comeback with his third mini album, "1to3."
The full album will be released on various music sites at 6pm today (31st).
The source will be revealed, and the music video (MV) for the title song "1to3" will also be released simultaneously on SMTOWN's YouTube channel.
The title song "1to3" is a British rock song that depicts the space of different future forms that gradually expands into points, lines, and surfaces.
The album contains SUHO's message that, like a gap, one can gather one's own steps and show a different side of oneself from others. In particular, SUHO has created the album concept and all the songs
As an artist, SUHO's participation in the album "Dotted Line (1
Q. How do you feel about making a comeback after such a long time with your 3rd mini album "1 to 3"?
I started preparing for this album a year and six months ago, but due to filming for the TV series and various other schedules,
I think that we have been able to improve the music and concept and finally be able to show a more complete album.
Q. What kind of song is the title song "1 to 3" and what are the points to look out for? It's a British song with a funky disco-style guitar and bass riff.
It is a song in the smash rock genre that goes beyond the first and second formers to a third former, meaning that for SUHO, it is a song that looks back on his life in his 30s beyond his teens and twenties, and informs listeners of his future direction.
The theme is deep, but unlike the previous title songs, it has a lot of fun and addictive music sources, so it's good to sing it at a festival and have everyone enjoy it.
I think so. In addition, this album contains a storyline that metaphorically depicts an astronaut lost in space reflecting on himself and sending his life philosophy to unknown territories through music.
I've put together a list of the songs so if you listen to them in order from track 1 to track 7, I think you'll find it interesting to understand the songs a little better.
Q. Is there a reason why you released a preview of the double title song "Cheese"?
Velvet" featured Wendy. What did you think? I really like the song "Cheese".
I wanted to have fun with my fans at the solo concert. Also, I've undergone a major image transformation through this album, so I hope I can approach my fans more easily and in a more fun way.
I thought that I had to release a preview of the light and fun "Cheese". Wendy is one of my favorite juniors, and she wrote this song for me.
I thought that Wendy would look really good in the role while working on it. I was worried that if Wendy had other schedules or projects, she wouldn't be able to do it, but
I was grateful that he readily agreed to the feature within 10 minutes of asking if it was possible. Q. Since it's a double title song, you shot two MVs.
Please tell us about a memorable episode. Wendy's facial expressions in the "Cheese" music video were so funny that I was like an American sitcom TV series.
I laughed a lot. In the last scene of the music video, we pretend to be frozen, look at each other, nod, and burst out laughing. It was actually a scene that was banned, but we decided to include it in the music video.
It seems to be more fun because it is surrounded by the sound. And in "Dotted Line (1 to 3)", the members of the SUHO band performed wearing alien masks, and even though they couldn't see well in front of them,
Q. This album is filled with rock music. You learned to play the guitar for this album. How did you prepare for it?
What part did you pay the most attention to? I've been studying rock since my military service. As the frontman of a band and playing guitar, I thought, "SUHO is serious about rock."
Q. Besides the double title tracks, are there any other songs on this album that you would recommend? Please tell us why.
I would like to recommend the 7th track "Zero Gravity". "EXO" and EXO-L (EXO's official fan club name, fan name)
I wrote this song while thinking about the happy, flying-like feelings we feel when we get together, so it's the most affectionate song on the record.
Q. If you had to describe this album in one keyword, how would it be?
Why? "SUHO genre". It can be said that this is the final stage of the project that has been prepared since 2020 to build a genre unique to SUHO. 1st,
I have to do solo concert tours for my second and third mini albums, but in order to do that I need to broaden my musical spectrum, so I needed to build up.
I think that by becoming a Suho artist, he has finally established the "Suho genre" and has created the possibility for him to include a variety of rock styles in his albums from now on.
Q. You held your first solo concert prior to the album release. What was the part you paid particular attention to in preparation?
I wanted to convey to my fans the feeling of being at a rock concert, so I decided on the title "SU:HOME."
So I wanted both myself and the fans to feel at ease and enjoy themselves at the venue. I also wanted to incorporate a variety of colors into the concert itself to create a performance that would be pleasing to the eyes and ears.
Q. What are your plans and goals for this album? I want many people to know that "SUHO is serious about rock" and that "SUHO's music is like SUHO."
Q. Please say a few words to the fans at home and abroad who have been waiting for SUHO's comeback.
Sorry for the wait! It seems like an even better album has been released, and I'm really happy and excited about it.
I once said, "If even waiting is fun, it's love," and I had a lot of fun preparing for this album. I hope you're all waiting for my album too.
Did you have fun during the concert? Beep, that's love! (laughs). I also really love EXO-L. Starting with the concert in Korea, I'll be performing wherever EXO-L are around the world.
We are going now, so please wait a little longer! We are one, let's love EXO!
