韓国政府「北朝鮮、挑発止めなければ耐え難い措置を」
South Korean government: ”If North Korea does not stop its provocations, we will take intolerable measures”
In response to North Korea's recent series of provocations, the South Korean government warned on the 31st of last month that "if North Korea does not stop, the government will take measures that North Korea will find intolerable."
On the same day, South Korea's Ministry of Unification announced the government's position on the recent North Korean provocations, saying, "We will take all necessary measures to prevent any future incidents from occurring.
"We strongly warn that North Korea bears full responsibility for this incident," the government said.
"We express strong regret that the North Korean regime continues to engage in unreasonable and irrational provocative acts against the South Korean side, including the use of force against the North Korean regime," he said.
"This is a confession to the whole world that was made without permission and is a tactic to blame outside parties for the policy failures within the North Korean regime, and North Korea will never achieve the results it desires with this approach," he said.
On May 27, after the failure of a wrap-up party for a military reconnaissance satellite, North Korea launched a series of provocations, including sending filthy balloons filled with cigarette butts and compost to South Korea on the night of the 28th.
In the same day, 18 super-large rocket cannons were fired, and radio interference to GPS (Global Positioning System) continued for three days until the 30th.
