China's Dragon Boat Festival passenger numbers expected to exceed 5.4 million - Chinese report

On May 31, China's flight information app "Honglu Zongheng" released a forecast report revealing that the number of passengers using airplanes during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday (June 8-10) is expected to reach 5.4 million.
According to data from Air Travel, the total number of passengers on passenger planes nationwide during this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday is expected to exceed 5.4 million. The average number of passengers per day is 18
This represents a 9.9% increase compared to the same period in 2019, before the COVID-19 virus outbreak, and a 10.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
The peak days for passenger numbers are expected to be June 7th and 11th, with 2 million passengers per day.
During the same period, approximately 42,700 passenger flights are expected to operate nationwide, with an average of more than 14,200 flights per day. This is the second-highest figure for the same period in 2023.
It is at almost the same level as last year, a 6% increase from the same period in 2019. International flights in particular are showing a remarkable recovery, with over 4,800 international flights scheduled to operate during the same period, a 72% increase from the previous year.
