Civil Aviation Administration of China expects passenger numbers to reach 620 million in 2023, up 146.1% from 2018 - Chinese media

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has released the "2023 Civil Aviation Industry Development Statistical Bulletin" (hereinafter referred to as the "Statistical Bulletin"). According to the "Statistical Bulletin," civil aviation passenger traffic in 2023 will increase by 146% year-on-year.
The number of passengers increased by 1.1% to 619,576,400. The number of scheduled air routes reached 5,206. As of the end of 2023, there will be 66 air transport companies in China. Scheduled flights are mainly within China (Hong Kong).
It operates flights to 255 cities (regions) in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), and international scheduled flights to 127 cities in 57 countries around the world.
The total flying hours of all airlines increased by 94.5% year-on-year to 12,209,000 hours.
The total number of takeoffs increased by 91.8% to 4,921,900. The load factor was 77.9%, up 11.3 percentage points from the previous year.
