[Official] 2PM's Ok Taecyeon to appear in Japanese film ”Grand Maison Paris”... co-starring with Kimura Takuya

Boy group 2PM's Ok Taekyeong has joined the Japanese film Grandmaison Paris.

On the 18th, his agency 51K announced, "Ok Taekyeong will appear in the Japanese film 'Grandmaison Paris'. Please give us a lot of attention and expectations."

‘Grand Maison Paris’ is an adaptation of the popular drama ‘Grand Maison Tokyo’, which aired on TBS in Japan in 2019, with Takuya Kimura, Kyoka Suzuki, Kazuki Sawamura, Mitsuhiro Oikawa and other main actors from the drama once again getting together to add a special touch. The film tells the story of genius chefs Natsuki Ohana (Takuya Kimura) and Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki), who opened Grand Maison Paris in Paris, the home of French cuisine, after winning three Michelin stars in Japan, and are the first Asians to challenge the three Michelin stars in a restaurant.

In this film, Taekyeung takes on the role of Rick Yuan, a Korean-Canadian pastry chef who is at odds at every turn with Takuya Kimura, who plays the charismatic main chef Natsuki Ohana. Rick Yuan is a pastry chef with a special passion for desserts and the ability to own his own restaurant.

Taekyeong says "I was thrilled to be cast in the same film as my idol Takuya Kimura, and I was honoured to be a part of such a good film. I also received a lot of good stimulation through this experience of travelling back and forth between Japan and Paris and working together with the staff from various countries. I also gained confidence that if I can become the character, I can always take on new challenges. Just like the team 'Grandmaison’ who are struggling to win the three Michelin stars, I hope that viewers will have the courage to believe that their dreams will one day come true if they work towards them,’ he commented.

Meanwhile, Grandmaison Paris is scheduled to be released in Japan this winter after the second half of the film's production.
