Samyang Foods files statement of rebuttal to Denmark's ”Brudak Stir-fried Noodles Recall” - Korea
On the 18th, the Korean food manufacturer Samyang Foods announced that it would submit a statement of opposition to the Danish government's recent recall of some of its 'Bludak Stir-fried Noodles' products.
The Danish Veterinary and Food Agency (DVFA) announced on the 11th (local time) that "three types of bluda stir-fried noodles contain high amounts of capsaicin and are at risk of acute poisoning.
The company announced a recall for its Kaku Black LUDA Stir Fry Noodles 3 x Spicy, Kaku Black LUDA Stir Fry Noodles 2 x Spicy, and Kaku Black LUDA Stir Fry Soup Noodles.
This is the first time that Samyang Foods has been ordered to recall a product due to its "spicy" taste.
The DVFA reportedly calculated the capsaicin content to be 113 milligrams based on a total product weight of 140 grams.
In response, Samyang Foods said, "The amount of capsaicin should be calculated based only on the weight of the liquid soup, not the weight of the entire product."
Samyang Foods decided to work with a domestic accredited agency to accurately measure the capsaicin levels in the three products recalled by the DVFA.
Once the measurement results are available, we plan to use them to submit a letter of rebuttal to the DVFA.
