Will Chae Jong Hyeop, who took over from Byeon Woo Seok, become a syndrome in Korea?

Choi Jung-hyeop, who has recently received great love in Japan as 'Hyeop-sama', is creating expectations by breathing romance with Kim So-hyun in tvN's 'Coincidence'.

On the 21st July, tvN announced, "Kim So-hyun and Choi Jung-hyeop's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Coincidence' is scheduled to premiere on 22nd July."

Based on the webcomic of the same name, 'Coincidence' is a first love romance in which the two meet their first love by chance after 10 years, intertwine as if by fate, and fall in love again. Choi Jung-hyeop plays the role of Kang Huyong, a financial design consultant with brilliant visuals and a clear mind in the play. He will portray a character who realises his love while being shaken by the memory of his first love in a variety of ways.

Choi Jung-hyeop has emerged as a popular Hallyu star, and his performance in 'Coincidence' is attracting attention. Choi Jung-hyeop recently starred in the Japanese drama 'Eye Love You', which was loved enthusiastically by Japanese fans. He was nicknamed 'Hyeop-sama', meaning 'Yong-sama' (Bae Yong-jun's successor), and proved his hot popularity in Japan by selling out 30,000 seats at his first fan meeting in Japan.

Following 'Lovely Runner', which finished airing in May, tvN will once again target viewers with 'Coincidence', a first love romance drama with a group of adolescent stars. Prior to this, 'Lovely Runner' saw the rediscovery of Pyeon Woo-seok. Playing the role of idol star Ryu Sung-jae in the drama, Pyung Woo-seok's clear and cool mask and his ability to sing and act in all roles made him an icon of first love and a popular youth star.

Thanks to his popularity, Pyung Woo-seok is also currently on an Asian fan meeting tour to carry on the afterglow and excitement of 'Lovely Runner'. When tickets for the Seoul fan meeting went on sale, a whopping 700,000 people rushed to the event, making the hot 'Songjae-holics' really feel it. If Choi Jung-hyeop gained popularity through Japanese dramas, Pyung Woo-seok hit Asia with his Korean dramas, and the two have taken similar steps to add heat to the Hallyu boom.
