Famous US surfer dies in shark attack
Tamayo Perry (49), a famous American surfer who also starred in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," was killed after being attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii.
Rescue workers brought the injured Ferry to shore, where he eventually died. Perry began making a name for himself as a surfer in Hawaii and elsewhere in the early 2000s.
He also worked as an actor, appearing in films such as "Blue Crush" (2002) and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (2011).
He taught surfing while running a trial class with his wife on Oahu, and since 2016 he has been helping rescue boats on the North Shore of Oahu.
According to the International Shark Attack Report, conducted by the Florida Museum of Natural History, there were 69 shark attacks on humans last year, 10 of which were fatal.
Shark incidents were most prevalent in Florida, the United States, with 16 incidents last year, but no fatal attacks.
