About 7,800 tons of treated water from Fukushima nuclear power plant to be released from 28th - South Korean report
Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Company announced on the 26th that it will begin the seventh discharge of treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean on the 28th.
According to Kyodo News, approximately 7,880 tons will be released by the 16th of next month, the same amount as last time.
TEPCO revealed that it had worked with an external agency to measure the concentrations of radioactive substances, such as tritium, in the treated water and confirmed that the release standards were met.
Tokyo Electric Power Company began discharging treated water into the ocean for the first time in August last year, and has so far released a total of about 47,000 tons of treated water into the sea off the Fukushima nuclear power plant over six releases.
Tokyo Electric Power Company explained that "no abnormal values were found in the tritium concentration of seawater collected around the nuclear power plant."
