The administration teased a proposed amendment to the "Notification on the Import and Export of Strategic Materials," which would add 243 items to the "catch-all regulations."
This makes the catch-all restriction on Russia and Belarus
The total number of items has been expanded to 1,402. New items that have a high possibility of being diverted for military use, such as metal cutting machines, machine tool parts, optical equipment parts, and sensors, have been added.
Once the notification comes into effect, exports of these items to Russia and Belarus will in principle be prohibited.
This proposed amendment will be submitted to the government at the end of August after going through administrative teaser, regulatory review and other procedures.
Regarding this, Chang Ho-jin, the National Security Advisor to the South Korean President, said on the 20th that Russia and North Korea
"The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" was signed, and the export
announced plans to expand restrictions.
