South Korea expresses concern over Israeli settlement expansion, demands withdrawal

On the 4th, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for a withdrawal of Israel's expansion measures into the West Bank. In a commentary released on the same day, the ministry said, "The government must take note of Israel's recent legalization of its illegal outposts in the West Bank.
"We are deeply concerned by the measures that the US has taken to expand settlements, including the nationalization of large swaths of land," he said. "The construction of settlements violates international law and is a violation of peace between the two countries."
"These decisions undermine the fundamental principles of a peaceful settlement and impede international efforts to ease tensions in the region," it said. "The government calls on Israel to reverse these decisions.
"The government calls on all parties involved to refrain from actions that increase tensions and calls for the highest priority efforts to improve the situation in the Gaza Strip."
Prior to this, Israel had legalized its illegal military outposts in the West Bank and nationalized large swaths of land in the face of its conflict with Hamas, inviting international debate.
