Lawyer Shin Pyeong claims that People's Power Party candidate Han Dong-hoon's ”lack of ability is gradually becoming apparent” (South Korea)
Shin Pyeong, a lawyer who supported President Yoon Seok-yeol in the 2022 presidential election, said on the 7th about Han Dong-hoon, the candidate for the People's Power Party's leadership,
Now, little by little, it seems that his lack of ability is becoming apparent. In a Facebook post on the same day, Shin said, "I wonder if candidate Han has been able to fully utilize the personnel under his command.
"I am well aware that many people have good faith and expectations towards candidate Han. However,
"If Candidate Han becomes the party leader, it is clear that the relationship between the ruling party and the government will be at its worst," he said. "Candidate Han will 'recreate the government' through this conflict and struggle within the ruling party.
I have argued that Han is aiming to create a new administration that is different from the Yun Seok-yeol administration, and that he has staged a palace coup.
Of Sima Yi and Lin Biao, the two most famous "palace coups," one candidate said he would follow in Lin Biao's footsteps.
Attorney Shin said, "After candidate Han held the press conference after losing the general election, he immediately announced at this party convention that he would run for party chairman.
"I predicted that. Now he is fighting to overcome the difficult obstacle of being elected as party chairman. I think that Candidate Han's 'palace coup' will ultimately fail," he added.
Meanwhile, regarding the fact that some of the chairpersons of the National Assembly's External Party Coordination Committee held a press conference urging him to withdraw his candidacy, Han said, "I was surprised that the public opinion was bad, so I did not revoke the petition and instead withdrew from it last time.
Candidate Han wrote on Facebook, "I have circulated a joint petition on the grounds that some politicians, including the election commissioners, have demanded that I apologize publicly, not privately.
"We are preparing to hold a press conference this afternoon to demand his resignation," he wrote, adding that he would proceed with the petition as planned "so that the public and my comrade party members can see it clearly."
Candidate Han wrote, "I will overcome the old system of petitions. I will change together with my fellow party members and the people."
Jeong Gwang-jae, spokesman for Han's campaign, said, "The old ways and controversies that arise during the party election process are a sign of why the power of the people needs to change.
"Even if we were to create 100 petitions instead of just one, it would not be possible to stop party members and the public from moving forward into the future," he commented.
