<Billiards> Crown Haeundae's ”Invincible Armada Captain” MARTINEZ wins his fifth PBA title
David MARTINEZ (Spain), nicknamed "Captain of the Armada" and a member of Crown Heitate, won his fifth PBA (Professional Billiards) championship.
On the 8th, MARTI played in the PBA finals of the Hana Card PBA-LPBA Championship held at the Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do.

This marks MARTINEZ’s fifth overall victory, his first in 301 days since the fourth round of the 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, Kang Dong-geun aimed to win the tournament for the second consecutive time after winning the opening match, but unfortunately lost, bringing his winning streak to just 13 matches.
In the early stages of the final, Kang Dong-geun had the momentum in the second set. He won the first set 15-9 in four innings, and in the second set, he hit the first pitch with a high run of 8 points, and quickly won the game.
He led the match 2-0. However, in the third set, MARTINEZ regained his focus and won a set, completely changing the atmosphere. He won the fourth set in 12 innings, 15:12.
Martinez regained his momentum and finished the fifth and sixth sets without a blank shot, winning the match with a score of 4-2.
After the final, Martinez said, "I was able to play in a way that I was satisfied with throughout the tournament. I'm really happy. I felt my energy rising when the set score was 2-2. From the 4th to the 6th sets,
"I felt like 'that person' was there during the event (laughs). I was able to show my own performance while I was performing," he said of his victory.
Yusuke Mori, who advanced to the semi-finals, was unfortunately defeated by MARTINEZ with a set score of 4-2, and will not be participating in the 2023 season.
In the women's LPBA, Fumiko Kai finished in 17th place, Orie Hida finished in 33rd place, and Kim Sang-ah (36), a mother of two, won the 10th place.
