China's June excavator sales total 16,603 units, 7,661 units sold domestically - Chinese report

China's domestic excavator sales in June increased by 25% compared to the same month last year. According to the China Construction Machinery Manufacturers' Association, a total of 16,603 excavators were sold in June 2024, up 5.31% year-on-year.
Of these, 7,661 units were sold domestically, up 25.6% year-on-year, while the remaining 8,942 units were exported overseas. Export sales were down 7.51% year-on-year.
Excavators sold in the first half of 2024 totaled 103,213 units, down 5.15% year-on-year. Of these, domestic sales increased 4.66% to 53,407 units, while export sales increased 4.78% to 53,407 units.
Export sales were down 13.8% year on year to 49,806 units. The growth rate of export sales in the first half of the year slowed down due to the high figures from the previous fiscal year, but the potential of overseas markets remains great.
Many agencies expect export sales of excavators to improve in the second half of this year.
