Taekwondo coach who left 5-year-old wrapped in mat and upside down... Found in ”cardiac arrest” (South Korea)
Police have launched an investigation after a five-year-old boy was found in cardiac arrest at a taekwondo dojo in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
According to the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency's Women's and Youth Investigation Unit and fire authorities on the 13th, at around 7:40 pm the previous day,
The fire department received a call from a Taekwondo dojo in Gyeonggi-dong reporting that a 5-year-old child was not breathing. When firefighters arrived, A was in cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was not performed.
He was taken to the hospital after being taken to hospital. He is still unconscious and is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. Police say that Mr. B, a man in his 30s who is the head of a taekwondo dojo, put Mr. A in a headlock.
After confirming that Mr. B had gone into cardiac arrest, he was immediately arrested at the scene. Mr. B reportedly told the police, "It was just a prank."
According to the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency's Female Youth Investigation Team, B placed A upside down between two mats that he had rolled up and set up, and left him there for 10 to 20 minutes.
Because Mr. A was not breathing, Mr. B took Mr. A to a clinic located in the same building as the Taekwondo dojo.
Mr. B tried to destroy the evidence by deleting security camera footage showing the situation at the time of the crime.
Police revealed that Mr. B had deleted the security camera footage from the Taekwondo dojo that had captured the crime scene after the fire department had taken Mr. A to the hospital.
This taekwondo dojo runs classes exclusively for young children, and it was discovered that other children were taking classes with A at the time of his accident.
The police have filed charges against Mr. B for serious injury from child abuse under the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes, and are investigating the details of the incident.
We are also currently investigating whether the security camera footage from the Kondo dojo was deleted, as well as the circumstances and reasons behind it."
