Macau's travel price index rose 2.72% year-on-year to 140.96 in second quarter - China report

According to data recently released by the Macau Government Statistics and Census Bureau, the travel price index for the second quarter of this year (April-June) rose 2.72% from the same period last year to 140.96.
The main factors behind the increase in the price index are rising prices of clothing and accessories and service charges at restaurants. Meanwhile, a decline in accommodation prices is also contributing to the growth of some of the indices.
By item, the clothing price index increased by 7.42%, miscellaneous goods increased by 7.1%, and food and drink increased by 6.79%. Entertainment and cultural events and accommodation increased by 14.92%, respectively.
The travel price index for the second quarter was down 2.57% compared to the first quarter (January to March), with the accommodation price index down 21.08%.
