Kim was ranked first in the World Memory Championships ultra-high intelligence test with an IQ of 276.
High IQ individuals who participate in the World Memory Championships are subjected to a multifaceted test in the form of a competition. Those who have been preselected are placed together with others who have a similar IQ, and the tournament is held.
The final winner will be determined through a tournament-style showdown, and in the process, the participants' IQs will be evaluated comprehensively. Participants will be asked to memorize a random set of 52 poker cards in 20 seconds.
Prior to this, Kim appeared on SBS's "Genius Discovery" in 2015 and was recognized as having the third highest IQ in the world.
He memorized all two sets of poker cards (104 cards) in the dam in 10 minutes and collected the hot topics. Kim was officially recognized as the highest IQ record holder by the Korea Records Association in November last year.
He is the only Korean member of the high IQ group Mega Society and is listed in the World Genius Dictionary.
He has also been ranked number one in the world in IQ by the World IQ Index (World Directory) and GigaSociety.
"This year, I was ranked number one in the Reader's Digest magazine's list of the 50 people with the highest IQ in history," Kim wrote on Instagram.
"Although it's a heavy title, I'm happy that I was able to spread a positive image of South Korea to the whole world," he said. "I hope to use my talents in the future to expand the brainpower of many people around the world."
"I want to help and study ways to improve the world," Kim said. Kim is currently the president of United Sigma, a non-profit organization of the world's most intelligent people.
He currently serves as the founder and president of the United States Intelligence Association (USIA).
