On the 22nd, the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea posted a video titled "One minute before the train departs, a police officer faced with a choice."
The video shows a man in his 70s looking around for the train gate at Suseo Station in Seoul around 7 a.m. on June 20.
The man was reported missing by his wife. The police were informed that the husband, who had dementia, had left the house saying he was going to his hometown. Based on the location information from his cell phone, the police located him at the railway police station.
At that time, Mr. A was already on the train. When he called the police, Mr. A told them his location was "Iksan." The police quickly went to the front of the train bound for Iksan.
Luckily, I was able to board the train one minute before it departed. After getting permission from the passengers, the police delayed the departure and searched the inside of the train.
A short time later, he was found on the train. Although A had difficulty communicating due to his dementia, he was able to explain.
Thanks to the swift response of the police and the cooperation of the passengers, Mr. A was able to return home safely.
