Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's candidate for president, also won a landslide victory in the primary election in Chungnam region on the 28th, garnering nearly 90% of the votes.
That morning, candidate Lee held a press conference at the Transportation Training Center in Gongju, South Chungcheong Province.
In the online vote of Chungnam-area Party members in the Chungnam-area tour primary election held in Seoul, he received 88.87% of the votes, beating out candidate Kim Du-gwan, who received 9.29%.
The cumulative vote share in the primary elections held up until the previous day in seven regions (Jeju, Incheon, Gangwon, Daegu and Kyungbok, Ulsan, Busan and Kyungnam) was 90.
With 89% of the votes, Lee also won by a landslide in South Chungcheong Province, solidifying his lead. In the votes of the Supreme Committee of the Party for Rights members in South Chungcheong Province, Kim Min-Seok recorded 20.62% and Lee recorded 16.94%.

The candidates are Min Hyeon-bae (5.77%) and Kang Seong-woo (5.65%). The Chungbok region's primary election will be held on the afternoon of the 28th.
The results of the votes from the Right Party members are expected to be made public after 6 pm. For the Democratic Party, the primary elections for the party leader and supreme committee members reflect 56% of the Right Party members, 14% for delegates, and 30% for the general public opinion polls.
A regional primary election will be held in Seoul on the 17th of next month, followed by a party convention on the 18th to select one leader and five supreme committee members.
